This audio book is a very good guide to 'Eastern Religion', however, it's an abridged version. This flies in the face of the work's title.
ReplyDeleteWhile I enjoyed the great depths and insight offered upon Hinduism, Vedism, MOST of the various Buddhisms, and the Tao I was denied many of the topics I truly wanted more information on.
This book has a very nice primer on Tantra. However, it declines to touch on 'Shinto', 'Jainism', 'Sikhism', or Korean Buddhism (and all the I-Ching studies.
I'm sure the physical copy of the book is superb. The audiobook gives the 'time constraint' excuse for not adding the work's info on Jain/Shinto etc.
